We at UFVAC are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants. As part of our dedication to diversity and equality, we want to ensure that transgender individuals feel respected and supported when joining our tournament.
Inclusivity Statement: The tournament will have an inclusivity statement affirming the acceptance and respect for all participants regardless of gender identity, expression, or transition status.
Transgender Policy: Transgender players who have undergone full transition, as defined by medical and legal standards, are eligible to participate in accordance with their affirmed gender identity. Only one fully-transitioned transgender per team.
Documentation: Transgender participants must be ready to provide documentation, such as legal identification, confirming their transition status if prompted by the committee at any time.
Privacy and Respect: All participants are expected to respect the privacy and confidentiality of transgender players regarding their transition status. Any inquiries or discussions regarding a player's gender identity are strictly prohibited.
Uniforms and Attire: Players are allowed to wear uniforms and attire that align with their gender identity. There are no restrictions or requirements based on assigned sex at birth.
Safety and Fair Play: All participants, regardless of gender identity, are expected to adhere to the rules and principles of fair play. Any forms of discrimination, harassment, or unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
Feedback Mechanism: Participants should have a means to provide feedback or raise concerns regarding inclusivity and transgender policies to the tournament organizers for continuous improvement.
By implementing these rules, the volleyball tournament can create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants, including transgender players who have completed their transition.
